Brandywine Rise Home Set on Fire By Angry Man, Police Say

22-year-old charged with three counts of aggravated arson after allegedly threatening to kill homeowner's daughter's boyfriend.

An angry Dunellen man has been charged with three counts of aggravated arson after authorities said he set a Green Brook woman's home on fire while a couple and their child were home, according to My Central Jersey.

The fire, which happened on March 22 on Brandywine Rise, was under investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office after detectives believed it was intentionally set. A fire accelerant had been poured along the home's foundation, authorities said.

Twenty-two-year-old Owen Harshaney has been charged as Green Brook Police told My Central Jersey that the man was angry with the homeowner's daughter and her boyfriend and had threatened to kill the boyfriend that day. Neither were home at the time of the fire, which was first reported at about 4 a.m.

Inside the home were a couple and their son, all of whom were asleep at the time. The family was able to escape the burning house without being harmed.
