Fundraising Games Pit Green Brook's Finest Against Each Other [Video]

Education and athletic foundation hosts games featuring eight-grade all stars, township, police and EMS—and teachers.

The Green Brook Education and Athletic Foundation held a second "Battle of Green Brook's Finest" basketball game Friday to raise money for its ongoing projects in the schools. With a crowd of about 100 in the stands at Green Brook Middle School, the game got under way almost as planned: due to an emergency call for a brush fire, the team members from the township Fire-EMS slated to play were a bit late to the game. But it was fine—the team of school staff members used their age and shooting advantages to quickly build and hold a lead on the township team. Fortunately, the fire was easier to handle. The foundation is currently working on making improvements to the baseball and softball field at Green Brook Middle School, one of the projects…

It's Green Brook vs. Green Brook in Foundation Fundraiser

Township hopes to notch a win at Friday night's game benefitting the Green Brook Education and Athletic Foundation.

After taking a 43-33 shellacking in the inaugural Battle of Green Brook's Finest basketball fundraiser last year, the bluster was missing from some members of the township team. The game will again pit a team comprised of township employees and members of the Township Committee and emergency responders and the Green Brook Eighth Grade All Stars. Township "point guard" Eddie Pfiefer and Mayor/forward Pat Boccio discussed the game before Monday's Township Committee meeting—and both expressed relief at knowing the Fire-EMS members would be nearby...with oxygen tanks. Such concerns haven't been voiced by the All Stars, but in a charity fundraiser, anything is possible. Residents can join in the fun at Green Brook Middle School with a $5 …

VIDEOS: School Officials Rock Out with Stones, Elvis Covers

Annual Green Brook Education and Athletic Foundation fundraising concert puts IEF principal, superintendent on stage.

The Green Brook Education and Athletic Foundation concert, held June 9 at Green Brook Middle School, showcased the talents of not only some Green Brook students—but also some Green Brook school leaders. The event helps raise funds for the foundation's projects, which included improving the school's interactive instructional technology, purchasing a new sound system for performing arts, and replacing athletic uniforms and equipment. The show featured performances by Short Circuit, with seventh-grader Matt Renzo and WHRHS student Ashay Grover, Core Standards, with IEF Principal Armand Lamberti, GBMS teacher Paul Fornale and Armando Lamberti.   The show also included Frank Clark, Pavita Howe, GBMS teacher Diana Hauser—and Superintendent …
