Funeral Announced for Killed Green Brook Planning Board Attorney

Services will begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in Watchung.

Obituary for Joseph J. Galfy Jr., from the Higgins Home for Funerals website. Joseph J. Galfy, Jr., 73, died on May 13, 2013 at his home in Clark. He was born in Newark and had lived in Hillside and Irvington before moving to Clark 15 years ago. Galfy received his Bachelor's Degree and his JD from Seton Hall. He was a partner with Kochanski, Baron and Galfy, PC in Rahway. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1970 as a Major, 24th Inf. Div. JAGC. Galfy served as the attorney for the Planning Board in Green Brook. He loved traveling, the New York Giants and music and played in a wedding band for over 25 years. Green Brook resident and owner of Fire Control Electrical Systems.

From Higgins Home for Funerals: Opie F. Brinson Jr., age 71, died on March 13 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. He was born in New Brunswick, grew up in Plainfield and had lived in Green Brook for the past 21 years.  Mr. Brinson proudly served in the United States Army.  Prior to his retirement in 2007, Mr. Brinson was the owner of Fire Control Electrical Systems, Inc.  He was a member of the North Plainfield Italian American Club and a communicant of St. Joseph's RC Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker with his friends every Wednesday and collecting baseball cards. He was an avid Mets and Giants fan and loved spending time with his friends and family. Obituary: Louetta Potts

Grew up in Watchung, before moving to Warren

Louetta C. (Closter) Potts, age 69, died April 17, 2012, at her home in Warren. Born in Long Island, she grew up in Watchung before moving to Warren 47 years ago.  Louetta was a member of Wilson Memorial Union Church in Watchung. She enjoyed the outdoors, being at her shore house with her family and friends and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren. Louetta was an unassuming person whose kind and caring nature was evident to all.  Surviving is her loving husband Ronald who she met at the jersey shore over fifty years ago. Obituary: Joseph Musorafite

Green Brook resident was a noted weightlifter and painter.

Joseph ("Joe") Anthony Musorafite, a longtime resident of Green Brook, died peacefully at his home on April 14, 2012. A  charismatic individual who was respected in the community, Joe was involved in many pursuits, particularly sports and fitness, art and history. He was  particularly known for his passion for weightlifting, and attended the YMCA in Somerville, where he had been honored with a lifetime membership. Joe maintained a wide array of interests and touched the lives of many.  Joe was born in New York City on Aug. 28, 1930, the youngest of seven children. His parents, Anthony and Maria Musorafite, were immigrants from Calabria, Italy. Sister Mary Gervase, 88 died on April 13, 2012 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung.  Sister Mary Gervase was born in Lakewood, N.J., one of 11 children of August and Eleanor SanAntonio. She received her early education in St Mary Academy, Lakewood, and Lakewood Public High School. Sister Mary Gervase earned a bachelor's degree in Science from Georgian Court College, Lakewood, and a master's degree in Elementary Education from Seton Hall University, South Orange.  Entering the Sisters of Mercy in 1944 she spent most of her religious life serving the Lord through her work as a teacher who inspired and loved the children she taught.  Her ministry was in the Metuchen and Trenton Diocese; teaching in St. Elizabeth School, …
