Green Brook EMS, Watchung Arts Center Win Dates with Somerset Patriots

Two of 40 community groups to get use of freeholders' Community Box at ballpark.

The Green Brook Fire-EMS and the are two of the 40 nonprofit organizations who will enjoy watching the “Boys of Summer” play ball from the Community Box, sponsored by the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders at the TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater. The groups will enjoy the Somerset Patriots’ 2012 season and were chosen in a drawing at the county administration building. 

“Since the time the ballpark was constructed by the county, one 30-seat community box has been available for the benefit of nonprofits and community organizations,” said Freeholder Director Patricia Walsh.  “We are pleased to continue this tradition.”

Winners in the drawing include Fellowship Village and Friends of Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge; Montgomery EMS in Belle Mead; Chapter II, the Senior Citizens Club of Bernardsville; Cub Scout Bear Den 3-Pack 185, Boy Scout Troop 90 and Branchburg In-Town Soccer Club; Bradley Gardens First Aid and Rescue Squad, Somerset Home for Temporarily Displaced Children, Somerset Children's Treatment Center, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 89, Finderne Engine Co. No. 1, Somerset County 4-H Association, Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter and the Bridgewater JCC; Girl Scouts Heart of NJ, Service Unit 69 in Far Hills; Resource Center of Somerset, Hillsborough Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 and Hillsborough Presbyterian Church; Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad; and Manville Volunteer Fire Company No.1, North End Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 and Manville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary No.3.

Also Friends of the Carpenter Inc. in North Plainfield; Saint Ann School Girl Scouts and Alternatives Inc. in Raritan; Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Skillman; A Child's Page Inc., Franklin Township Senior Citizens Club and Elizabeth Avenue Volunteer Fire Company Station 26 in Somerset; Somerville Fire Department, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and Somerville Baseball Inc. will have an opportunity to root for the home team.

Other lucky winners who will get to enjoy America’s favorite pastime include the South Bound Brook Senior Citizens Club, South Bound Brook Fire Company Exempt Association and South Bound Brook Fire Company No.1; Knights of Columbus (Council 11409) and Mount Horeb Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 in Warren; and the Watchung Arts Center.
