Dunellen Nonprofits Holding Annual Fundraiser

Three different nonprofit organizations are coming together in the next month to raise money in Dunellen and bring attention to their individual causes.

The Dunellen Fire Co. No. 1, If I Only Had a Brain Foundation and Dunellen Skylight Theatre Productions will be holding a car wash fundraiser to raise money for each of their organizations, according to a release. All proceeds will be divided among the three.

The event will be held June 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dunellen Fire Department on South Madison Avenue in Dunellen.

Car wash fees will be $8 for trucks and $5 for larger vehicles.

The Dunellen Defender Fire Co. No. 1 began in 1897, and will be using proceeds from the fundraiser to support its department building and perform other necessary maintenance work.

The If I Only Had a Brain Foundation uses proceeds to donate to the New York Presbyterian Hospitals Brain Tumor and Epilepsy Development Fund.

Finally, Dunellen Skylight Theatre Productions is planning to use its proceeds for producing its summer play series, “Down the Rabbit Hole” and “Pirates of Penzance,” as well as for insurance coverage.
