Municipal Alliance 5K Run, 1-Mile Walk Comes to Mobus Field

Fundraiser set for Oct. 6.

The Watchung Hills Regional Municipal Alliance 5K certified run and 1-mile walk will be held Oct. 6. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the run starts at 9 a.m. at Mobus Field near Brookdale Road on the north side of Watchung Lake.

Registration can be done by mail-in application or online through bestrace.com. For more information, call Carolyn Seracka at 732-968-1051 ext. 3 or Jack Walsh at 732-561-8883.

Run sponsors who wish to donate and advertise on the run T-shirt are encouraged to call ASAP for information.

The Watchung Hills Regional Municipal Alliance is a volunteer organization sponsored by the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. The WHRMA serves the communities of Green Brook, Long Hill, Watchung and Warren. The Alliance provides funding for school and community alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs. It supports the communities and school systems with programs such as funding for Project Graduation and Challenge Day at the high school and various programs in the communities and at the elementary and middle schools.
