Central Jersey Panthers Baseball Sweep Thanksgiving Tournament

Team with players from Warren Township, Watchung and Green Brook win every game in Friday-Saturday tournament.

The Central Jersey Panthers, with players mostly from Warren Township, Watchung and Green Brook, played in The Diamond Nation Thanksgiving Day Tournament, this past Friday and Saturday, and swept up by winning all four games. 

The baseball team scored 46 times and only allowed nine total runs by opponents in the four games. The Panthers did not commit one error in the games against the Upper Moreland Vipers, Bayonne PBA, South Eastern Pa. Black Knights and, for the final championship, the Berkeley Outlaws.

The Panthers beat the Berkeley Outlaws from Toms River 11-5 in the championship game. The former 9U summer and fall team, played 10U for the tournament.

The  was a complete team effort with every kid making huge contributions.

The team is comprised of five Watchung kids, three from Warren, one from Long Hill Township, and three from Green Brook. Two players also joined from the Flemington.

Team members are Matthew Dahl, Jayden Hilton, Jake Zaikov, Tommy Casale, Thomas Barca, Brandon Padre, Dylan Brunetti, Olivia Volpe, Connor Dreyer Kayden Everly and Ethan Paritz.

Brad Elicker is the coach, along with with Curt Dahl, Craig Zaikov and Ken Casale.

The team's record has been 32-5 since the start of the summer. The Panthers won the USABL summer championship and the Pemberton Summer Sizzler Tournament as well as placing as runner ups in the USABL fall weekday league and weekend league respectively. 

"These boys and one super young lady practiced as many as five times a week and really deserve the recognition for their outstanding effort — and the parents dedication as well," according to Curtis Dahl.
