Baseball Academy Starting New Somerset Team

It is through RBIS.

A new competitive baseball team is being started in response to a demand for more opportunities for playing in Somerset County.

According to a release from RBIS baseball training center, a new 12u team is forming in response to that demand.

RBIS, according to the program’s website, is based in Morris County, and holds winter clinics and summer camps to teach students different techniques of baseball.

RBIS owner Tim Ziakas, in a release about the new team, said students in the program have the chance to get year-round training.

“It is our belief that every player is unique and there is no one way for players to hit, throw and pitch,” he said. “Our goal is to take each player and get the most out of his/her ability, not to mold each player according to our beliefs.”

“Through these training sessions, our baseball and softball players will be introduced to skills that are often learned too late in their career and, in some cases, not learned at all,” he added. “We feel that implementing these conceptual ideas earlier in a ballplayer’s career will allow for a smoother and successful transition to higher levels.”

The program will serve children in Bedminster, Bernards, Bernardsville, Bound Brook, Branchburg, Bridgewater, Far Hills, Franklin, Green Brook, Hillsborough, Manville, Millstone, Montgomery, North Plainfield, Peapack-Gladstone, Raritan, Rocky Hill, Somerville, South Bound Brook, Warren and Watchung.

According to the release, players will be trained at Athletic Republic, a leader in performance sports training. The training, the release said, is based on a philosophy that uses a science-based approach and other protocols to improve speed, power and agility.
