Watchung Schools Closed, Others Open on Friday

The Watchung Borough Board of Education announced classed for Friday have been canceled, marking the 10th consecutive day of closed schools.

Green Brook schools announced plans to open for classes Friday, but transportation for students will not be provided.

Whether schools are closed for nine days or 10, the districts will be scrmabling to make up the lost time. School boards will discuss how to make up the missed days, and plans could include using all four of the snow days included in the schedule, as well as days at the beginning and end of the spring break. Other days will be needed in order for the district to schedule to 180 days required.

Watchung Hills Regional announced the school will open for classes tomorrow, with 40-minute classes set to begin at 7:30 a.m. The schedule for classes is:

• Period 1              7:30 – 8:15 (Includes 5 minutes for announcements)
• Period 2              8:20 – 9:00
• Period 3              9:05 – 9:45
• Period 4              9:50 – 10:30
• LUNCH               10:30 – 11:15 (NO LABS)
• Period 5            11:20 – 12:00
• Period 6            12:05 – 12:45
• Period 7            12:50 – 1:30
• Period 8              1:35 – 2:15
