Green Brook Township Updates for Thursday

Township notes 43 percent of town still without power.

Dear Residents:
As information to access still remains difficult for some, we ask that you PLEASE pass this message along. The Township has been working with the Board of Education, Nixle.com as well as the Watchung-Green Brook Patch to get the word out. Please spread the info.

When is my power coming back on?
The most commonly asked question around town these days.  Following is the information that the Township has regarding the current situation:
PSE&G crews have been in Green Brook for the past week and the numbers in town have been improving but as of 7am on 11/7, 43% of the Township is still without power (as of 9pm on 11/7 we are aware that IEF and GBMS and the surrounding areas now have power.  School is still cancelled for Thursday due to the requirements of the buildings upon power restoration).  The Township is exhausting all resources to provide information to PSE&G regarding current status of our neighborhoods, in hopes that this will aid them in making decisions regarding work crews.  There is much work to be done in the Township. Unfortunately the Township is only provided the following information: how many crews are dedicated to Green Brook on a given day, what percentage and the total number of customers that are in or out of power on a daily basis, estimated number of customers that they plan to restore each day (to see the current work plan: http://pseg.com/pdf/PSE_G%20Workforce%20Schedule20121107%200700.pdf)
Township officials are frustrated with the process and the lack of information that we can provide to you, but nothing compares to the frustration of the PSE&G customers in our Township that still do not have power.

I haven’t seen any PSE&G crews in my neighborhood!
PSE&G assures the Township officials that even though the crews may not be seen in every neighborhood/street, the crews are working in areas of the Township which will energize the most residents at a time.

If you have a power outage & have not yet reported it, call PSE&G at 1-800-436-PSEG. We want our current outages to be accurately reflected in the numbers that are being maintained and reported on by PSE&G.

From PSE&G: -- Important safety information:
PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THE OF THE VERY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS THAT THE PSE&G WORKERS WORKING UNDER. The work crews do not have specific info about when service will be restored to your neighborhood, only the project that they are currently working on and where they are going next.
