Wal-Mart Reports Man Shoplifted Two TVs, Speakers

Watchung Borough police reports.

Louis Tomas Jr., 41, of Lyons, was charged with theft after taking two TVs and a speaker system, valued at $844 altogether, from the at 4:37 p.m. July 17, police said.

Police said he was taken into custody after fleeing the store in a 2005 Chrysler 300.

He was turned over to Somerset County Jail, with bail set at $10,000.

Watchung police also reported the following shoplifting incidents:

At 7:25 p.m.  July 27, Tylea Caldwell, 20, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting clothing valued at $160.35 from , after placing items in her purse. She was released after posting a $100 cash bond, pending an appearance in municipal court.

David Campbell, 63, of Dunellen, was charged with shoplifting $41.68 worth of food from the at 7:28 a.m. July 29. He was released after the charges were filed.

Lenore DeBlasio, 39, of Somerset, was charged with shoplifting a Lands End woman's shirt, valued at $20, at the at 8:34 p.m. July 27. She was turned over to Somerset County Jail, with bail set at $1,000, after the charge was filed.

At 7:25 p.m. July 27, Monisha Davis, 23, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting clothing and perfume valued at $141.80 from the Target department store. She was released after posting a $100 bond.

Myron Moroz, 54, of North Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting a shirt priced at $34 from the at 3:11 p.m. July 26. He was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Odete Jacinto, 58, of Union, was charged with shoplifting jewelry valued at $43.85 from the Sears at 1:59 p.m. July 26. She was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Kimberly Landers, 42, of Varteret, was charged with shoplifting an exhaust fan, valued at $249, from at 7:56 p.m. July 25. She was turned over to Somerset County Jail, with bail set at $2,500.

Marquis Sheppard, 23, of North Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting two video game controllers, valued at $117.62, from Wal-Mart at 1:42 p.m. July 25. He was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Claudia Reyes, 37, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting pefume valued at $12.97 from Wal-Mart at 3:55 p.m. July 24. She was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.
