Two Warren Residents Charged with Heroin Possession

Watchung Police weekly reports.

Watchung police reported charging two Warren residents with possession of heroin, after police stopped the vehicle they were in on High Oaks Drive at 10:09 p.m. April 6.

Gabrielle Leonardis, 20, and Sean Hilbert, 21, were both charged after police discovered six folded papers containing heroin during a search of the vehicle. 

Hilbert was released, pending an appearance in municipal court on the charge, while Leonardis was turned over to Union County officials for processing on outstanding warrants from that county.

In other police activity last week:

On March 30, several area residents reported having something strike their vehicles while driving on Valley Road. The reports were received around 8 p.m. and were investigated by police.

Jazmin Korren, 33, of Norcross, Ga., was taken into custody at 4:36 p.m. March 31 after police stopped the vehicle she was driving on Terrill Road for an inoperative rear brake light. During the stop, police discovered an outstanding South Plainfield warrant, and Korren's driver's license had been suspended.

She was released after posting a $1,000 cash bail.

Connie Gugliemini, 44, of Newark, was taken into custody at 8:32 p.m. April 4 after police stopped the vehicle she was driving on Somerset Street, after police discovered several outstanding warrants. She was subsequently charged with driving while her license is suspended and displaying fictious license plates on the vehicle she was driving. 

Gugliemini was turned over to Somerset County Jail, with a $1,000 cash bail set.

Oliver Esannason Jr., 59, of Plainfield, was taken into custody by Watchung police on outstanding warrants at 8:14 p.m. April 5, at the store on Route 22 West. He was turned over to Somerset County Jail, with bail set at $750.

A Plainfield resident reported her purse was stolen at about 8:30 p.m. April 5, after she left it in a shopping cart at the Stop and Shop in the Watchung Square Mall.

Bowen Tecumsa, 22, of Newark, was taken into custody after police stopped the vehicle she was driving for speeding and failing to use her turn signal while driving on Route 22 East at 12:40 a.m. April 7. Tecumsa was turned over to Bayonne police for processing on the warrants after the charges were filed.

Samantha Chapman, 22, of Bound Brook, was taken into custody after police stopped her because her vehicle registration had expired. Watchung police also charged her with driving while her license was expired and failing to show a valid insurance card before she was released.

Angela Hayes, 42, of Newark, was charged with obtaining controlled substances by fraud after she allegedly attempted to purchase medication at the Store at 4:08 p.m. April 9. She was released on her own recognizance after the charges were filed.

A Piscataway resident reported her 2009 Honda Accord had been damaged sometime between 8 p.m. April 9 and 8:30 a.m. April 10 while the vehicle was parked at the Honey Baked Ham store on Route 22 West. A scratch that appears to have been made by a key was reported, resulting in an estimated $200 in damage to the vehicle.

The following individuals were charged with shoplifting at Watchung businesses:

Ghadah Edwards, 31, of Newark, with shoplifting merchandise valued at $57.35 from the TJ Maxx store at 7:07 p.m. March 30.

Jhonny Quinonez-Rodriguez, 43, of Plainfield, with shoplifting sunglasses valued at $28 from the store at 11:50 a.m. March 31.

Akintayo Akinkugbe, 46, of Irvington, with shoplifting a luggage set valued at $119 from BJ's Wholesale Warehouse at 5:20 a.m. March 31.

Rajahn Muata, 49, of East Orange, and Terrance Worthy, 45, of Newark, were charged with theft after they alegedly took DVD players valued at $918.77 from the Target store at 10:19 p.m. April 2.

Devin Davis, 22, of Somerset, with shoplifting baby wash valued at $63.51 from WalMart at 5:21 p.m. April3.

Ashley Melton, 24, of Bound Brook, with shoplifting items valued at $98.97 from Wal-Mart at 5:21 p.m. April 3.

Monica Ramos, 33, of Plainfield, with shoplifting items valued at $309.97 from the Sears store at 1:21 p.m. April 7.

Edisson Bonilla, 34, of Plainfield, with shoplifting a CD and a shirt, valued at $75.99 from the Sears store at 1:21 p.m. April 7.
