Store Reports Shoplifter—But Can't Prove It

Police investigate but left without answers.

When employees of the Walgreen's drug store on Route 22 saw a man suddenly dart from the store with what appeared to be items inside the black jacket he was wearing, they naturally assumed he was a shoplifter.

So, they called police at 5:27 p.m. May 28 to report the theft, providing police with a description of the suspect: a white male, with short hair, wearing bue jeans and a black jacket.

Police searched the area but didn't find anyone matching the description. At the store, police attempted to view the store's security camera videotape, but the tape could not be retrieved.
