Apparent Roofers Steal Cash From Woman, Cops Say

Two men discuss repairs, allegedly take $60 to $70 from Glenn Avenue resident.

A Glenn Avenue resident reported two men stole $60 to $70 in cash from her, after engaging in a discussion of roof repairs to her house, Green Brook police said.

The woman said she was carrying groceries into her home at about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, when a mid-sized blue pickup truck stopped and two men got out to ask if she would be interested in having some repairs made to the roof of her house.

While in discussion, one of the men asked to use her bathroom. The other man continued to try to negotiate with the homeowner. After they left, she noticed the bathroom towels were not used and several drawers in bedroom furniture had been disturbed.
