'Inoperable' Vehicle Stolen from Green Brook Business

Green Brook police report.

A manager with the closed Martin's Furniture Store reported a 1989 Chevrolet Suburban, valued at $600, stolen from the store sometime between 4 p.m. July 4 and 7:30 a.m. July 5.

According to the manager, the vehicle was not running, was inoperable, and though it was registered, the registration had expired.

He told he had spoken to a scrap metal buyer who was interested in buying the vehicle, but had told the dealer he did not want to sell the vehicle. The manager suggested a possible misunderstanding—but was unable to reach the scrap metal buyer.
