Cops: Stolen Credit Cards Quickly Used for Food

Cement lion statue also reported stolen recently in Green Brook.

Green Brook police received a report of a lost debit card on July 17 that was used to purchase food before the victim discovered the card was missing.

According to the police report, the resident reported at 6 p.m. July 17 that she had lost her ATM card around 7 p.m. July 15. When she reported the misssing card, she was infomred that it had been used four times for food charges, totaling more than $50.

In another case involving stolen credit cards, police are investigating a report made by a New York City resident who reported leaving an ATM card behind after conducting some business at . The card was taken by someone—who used it to make two quick withdrawals, for $60 and $200 before the victim reported the card missing. Bank officials reported having video that may be available to help identify the thief.

Police also received a report of the theft of a cement lion statue, valued at $265, from the entrance to a Revine Road residence, occurring sometime between 7:30 p.m. July 13 and 2:20 p.m. July 14.

And a Middlesex resident reported the theft of a purse containing $280 cash, a N.J. driver's license, Resident Alien Immigrtation Card and several credit cards, from trunk of her vehicle sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. July 13 while the vehicle was parked at Green Brook Manor Nursing Home. The victim reported she had placed her purse in the turnk and locked the car, but had left the driver's side window partially open. Witnesses said they saw a man walking around near vehicle between 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m., but could not identify him.
