Green Brook Police Investigate $26,000 Equipment Theft

Township police reports.

Green Brook Police are investigating the theft of electronic testing equipment and supplies valued at $26,000 from an Interhaven Avenue business.

The company reported the equipment, which included equipment for testing communication signals, had been taken from a closet sometime between January and April 29. No signs of a break-in were reported, and the manager noted the closet was not locked in the interim.

 on April 17, after receiving two online orders, one from Lake Stevens, Wash., and another from Miami, for Acer tablet computers, valued at $365 each, to be delivered to an address in Buffalo, N.Y. The store had been notified the credit card used for the first order was used fraudulently.

A Woodlawn Avenue resident reported losing her wallet sometime between 9:30 p.m. April 28 and 1 p.m. April 29, after making a purchase at . The wallet contained her debit card, driver's license and about $40 in cash.

A resident of Green Brook Manor Nursing Home reported the theft of a $500 cash from her purse sometime between 7 p.m. April 26 and 6 p.m. April 27. She she believed someone had entered her room when she was not in and took the money.

Police responded to report of shoplifting from the CVS pharmacy at 11:16 a.m. April 29, when a store manager reported a man had run out of the store and driven away after being approached by store employees.

Police located the suspect on Route 22, who said he had left after showing the employees that he did not have any items hidden, and denied running out of the store.

Following an investgation, police concluded no shoplifting had occurred and released the man on his own recognizance.

A Lenox Avenue resident reported someone had cut "Lamb's ear" plants, valued at $400, sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. April 30.
