Green Brook Man Fatally Shot on Christmas

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in connection with the homicide.

A 25-year-old Green Brook man was shot early Christmas morning in Plainfield, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park said.

Rashad Daye was shot in the area of Park Avenue and East Ninth Street at 5:33 a.m. on Wednesday. Plainfield police found Daye, and he was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he died.

Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Division are conducting a joint investigation into the homicide. No arrests have been made.

A reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in connection with Daye's death is being offered by the Union County Crime Stoppers; tips can be given anonymously at 908-654-8477, via text message by texting "UCTIP" and a message to 274637, or online at www.uctip.org.
