Bomb Threat Allegedly Sets up Burglary at Green Brook Shop

Green Brook police receive report business was broken into while closed.

Police are investigating a burglary at utility contracting company Valvetek, on Interhaven Avenue, that they say occurred between 1:30 p.m. July 18 and 6:45 a.m. July 19.

The incident reportedly followed several suspicious events, including employees noticing a man allegedly watching the business on July 13 from an older, gold-colored Chrysler sedan on July 13, parked across Interhaven Avenue from the business. When an employee approached the vehicle, the driver sped off, according to police

Then, the shop closed at 1:30 p.m. after receiving a bomb threat on July 18. As a precaution, the company's employees were dismissed for the day, and when returning to work July 19, they allegedly discovered someone had entered the building through an unlocked rear door, then pried open locked office doors to access file cabinets and take an HP laptop computer, valued at $400, and a handheld utility service detector, valued at $900.
