Berkeley Heights woman injured in accident on Hillcrest Road, township police said.

Warren Township Police reported four vehicle crashes that took place on township roads since last Friday, with the most serious being a Saturday morning accident that resulted in an 81-year-old Berkeley Heights woman being hospitalized.

The police report said the crash, which took place shortly before 10 a.m., happened on Hillcrest Road south of Emerson Lane when Jose Azofeifa, 36, of Bridgewater, traveling north, allegedly crossed into the southbound lane.

Police reported that Azofeifa's vehicle struck that driven by Joan M. Austra, 81, of Berkeley Heights.

The police report said that they, the Warren Township Fire Department and First Aid Squad, the Berkeley Heights First Aid Squad and Mercy 6 paramedics responded to the accident scene, before the Mercy 6 unit transported Austra to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center.

Azofeifa was brought to the Overlook Hospital, according to the police report. Dinardo Towing removed both vehicles from the road, police said.

The police report said that the Bridgewater man was issued summonses for careless driving, failure to keep right and failure to exhibit documents.

Warren police said a 17-year-old driver was injured on Friday when Maximilia Mueller, 17, of Warren, lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole near 28 Mount Horeb Road. Mueller declined treatment, no summonses were issued, and the vehicle was towed from the scene, according to the police report.

Two other accidents which police said did not result in injuries were reported on Tuesday.

According to police, just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Mohammed V. Rahaman, 48, of Monmouth Junction, rear-ended another vehicle driven by 42-year-old Selvakuman Dhanabalan of Piscataway. A summons for careless driving was issued to the first driver, according to the police report.

Township police said another crash was reported at 7:14 a.m. on Tuesday, when Jhonny Franco, 53, of Dunellen, struck a second car driven by Michele Jarosz of East Brunswick. No injuries were reported and no services were injured, according to township police.
