Mount Saint Mary Junior Named NJ Scholar

Mount Saint Mary Academy junior Jessica Heine of Cranford has been accepted to the New Jersey Scholars Program. The program is highly competitive as approximately 40 students from the state are accepted each year.

As a scholar, Heine will participate in a rigorous and dynamic academic program this June and July.  She will attend a five-week program at the Lawrenceville School in addition to spending time studying at prominent museums and libraries in the tri-state area.  She will attend lectures, participate in small group seminars, and conduct research.  The program’s intensive academic courses will center on this year’s theme, “Climate Change and the Human Experience.”  Students will take an interdisciplinary approach to the topic by participating in sessions on art, music, drama, science, and public policy.

According to the New Jersey Scholars Program, the rising seniors accepted to this year’s class represent some of “the most intelligent, outgoing, and highly motivated students” in the state.
