Green Brook PBA Sets Thanksgiving Day 'Turkey Trot'

Work up your Thanksgiving appetite with morning 5K benefitting local group.

The Green Brook PBA Local 398 announced a Thanksgiving 5K event to help raise money for the group's various youth sports programs and other projects.

The PBA's Turkey Trot 5K event will be held at 8 a.m. Nov. 22 at Green Brook Middle School. Registration is $25 in advance; $30 the day of the race. The top three finishers, and the top three in each age group, will receive awards.

Separate race events for kids 12 and under will also be held, with an $11 registration fee. Races will include a 100-yard run on the football field for children 5-years-old and under; a 200-yard sprint on the GBMS track for kids between six and eight years of age, and a 400-yard race for nine to 12-year-olds.

The PBA is touting the event's 5k USATF-sanctioned course in Green Brook over a very level course—with only a 10 foot rise—and the finish line on the new track at GBMS.

Runners will be lead by a Green Brook Police car. All participants are encouraged to bring a food donation to be donated to the food bank.
