Power Restored in Green Brook After Truck Crash

Tractor trailer accident in Middlesex Borough caused power outages and took out power to traffic lights along Route 22.

Power has been restored to Green Brook residents after a tractor trailer knocked down several utility poles and took out a transformer.

At 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, a truck crashed at 1200 Mountain Ave. in Middlesex Borough, taking down all of the utility poles on the property and a transformer, Middlesex Police said.

There were no injuries reported in the crash, according to Middlesex Police.

PSE&G officials reported that 3,800 people were without power after the crash, which also took our power to traffic lights along Route 22.

As of 8 p.m., just one hour after the crash, police reported that power was restored to both Green Brook and Middlesex, including the traffic lights along Route 22.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
