Gatsby Salon Rolls Out Its Own Hair Care Products

Hoping to capitalize on 'Jerseylicious' fame, salon owner Gayle Giacomo creates a special line.

For years, patrons of Green Brook's have been able to purchase specialty products, but now, they can choose from a line of products created from scratch by owner Gayle Giacomo.

Working with Baltimore-based C.A.G. USA Inc., which manufactures and bottles the products, Giacomo developed her products aiming at a particular niche: women who need more volume in their hair.

"I told them what I wanted to start and I wanted volume," she said. "I feel every woman needs volume to some extent."

She worked with the company to develop her own take on volumizing shampoo, conditioner, hairspray and a root lifter, which are all now available through the salon and the Gatsby Salon website

The launch of GG Gatsby products completes a long-held ambition for Giacomo, who said she has been searching for a competent manufacturer to work with for many years. She didn't find one offering not just the quality of product she wanted but also the service needed until hooking up with C.A.G.

"I just knew it was something I needed to do," Giacomo said.

The products have been available for retail sale since May 7, and Giacomo said the sales have started to mount. But she's continuing to develop her marketing plans and retail outlets.

"I'm not going to go with professional salons because it's not a professional line," she said, adding he rmarketing team is searching for "the right places" to carry the products.
