Arts Center Sets Les Paul Tribute Show

Upcoming shows also include The Improvables, Beacon Hill Jazz Band and more.

The Watchung Arts Center announced the following concert programs have been set. 

Friday, March 15, 8 p.m.
“Jazz in the Gallery”: Marty Eigen’s Beacon Hill Jazz Band — Ellington & Basie in the 21st Century

$16 in advance, $20 ($18 for WAC members, $10 for students) at the door
Attend one of the most exciting jazz events in the new century right in the Upper Gallery. Marty Eigen’s Beacon Hill Jazz Band will perform the music of Messer’s Ellington and Basie. Sitting in for the Duke and Count on piano will beSir Fred Fischer.

Saturday, March 16, 8 p.m.
Songwriters in the Round: Jonathan Spottiswoode, Amy Correia, and Kenny White

$20 in advance, $25 ($22 for WAC members, $10 for students) at the door
Jonathan SpottiswoodeAmy Correia, and Kenny White each have their own unique style, and when together, present an inspiring evening of music as they take turns performing their own songs as well as accompanying each other.

“Jazz in the Gallery”: ImpresaRIO Concert: Rio Clemente, The Bishop of Jazz

The Center is fortunate to welcome back this master pianist. The audience will be treated to the energy and charisma of this jazz virtuoso and enjoy a night filled with musical inspiration and pure joy.

Summer Art Camp 2013

Art Camp is a three-week program during the month of July for ages 6-12. Under the direction and instruction of Mrs. Monica Otero, Art Camp is a three-week program during the month of July for ages 6-12. Focusing on Creativity, Imagination and Ingenuity, Art Camp offers children a unique opportunity to acquire or improve artistic skills, learn new techniques, explore different media and get inspired by famous artists. All, while having fun! Surrounded by the beauty of the Watchung Mountains, students appreciate both Art and Nature as they draw and paint outdoor scenes and have picnic lunches at Best Lake. Free T-Shirt for all campers.
