Bridgewater was named as one of the affected Michaels Stores locations in a document released by the company pertaining to the data security breach that exposed information about 2.6 million of their customers.
It was found by two separate security firms hired by the company that about 7 percent of customer transactions were compromised in the breach between May 8, 2013 and Jan. 27.
“We are truly sorry and deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause,” said Michaels CEO Chuck Rubin in a letter on the companies website. “Our customers are always our number one priority and we are committed to retaining your trust and loyalty.”
