Watchung Resident Susan Feibush Receives 9/11 Educ Grant

Susan Feibush, School Librarian in the North Plainfield High School/Middle School Media Center and a resident of Watching, has been selected as a For Action Initiative Fellow. The “For Action Initiative” advances the educational mission of the "Families of September 11."

She and four teammates will receive $4,000 to develop programs that help educators, K-12 students, and other members of the school community explore world politics and the roots of terrorism, and learn how to help create a more peaceful society through positive actions -- locally, nationally, and globally.

Ms. Feibush says, "The tragedy of 9/11 continues to affect the lives of our students even though most of them were babies or not born at that time. We want our students to feel safe and proud in this country and yet they must understand that bad things do happen. Our students will be able to participate in a variety of learning activities as part of the For Action grant that will help them feel safe and informed in our changing environment.”
