Watchung Firefighters Install Weather Station for Public Use

The Watchung Volunteer Fire Department members recently braved the winter weather to install a weather station connected to the internet at the Watchung Fire House, Fire Chief Tom Carlucci said.

"I am grateful for all that our members do for our community and the installation of the weather station by our volunteers is yet another example. We have installed the station so we can monitor weather conditions that may affect us while serving the community at various emergency incidents" he said.

Recently Fire Department members removed a Borough resident from an overturned car near the Fire House. While waiting for an ambulance to respond Firefighter/ EMT's realized temperatures were in the single digits and immediately brought the victim into the warm firehouse. 

We have decided to make this information available to our residents and public alike. This is especially valuable with the dangerous winter temperatures .
