Wrestling Association Outing to Benefit Facility Plans
Oct. 1 event aimed at building group's program.
WHWA President Marc Hayward said the association's coaches and officiers are "working hard to get the wrestling season up and running," including setting plans for the association's third annual golf outing, slated for Oct. 1 at Twin Brooks Country Club, in Watchung.
The outing and fundraiser will help the association with its plans to build a facility aimed at enabling the association to offer year-round training and wrestling. The WHWA has been working with Warren Township and the township school district to develop the facility on a section of township-owned land adjoining the school district's transportation an buildings and grounds department on Mountain Avenue, near Old Stirling Road, in Warren.
"Over the past two years, we have raised more than $55,000 with your help and others," the association reported in a press release about the golf outing. "All proceeds from the golf outing and dinner will go to the construction of a year-round wrestling and training facility for both the Watchung Hills youth and high school wrestling programs."
The golf outing will begin with lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by golfing at 12:30 p.m., a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.
The group welcomes dinner reservations for those unable to join the golf.
Registration is available online or by mail, but must be completed by Sept. 21.
