Watchung Appoints New Teachers
New kindergarten and fourth-grade teachers fill Bayberry classroom needs.
Jacqueline Hughes and Kathryn Morris were appointed to fill two openings at Bayberry School at Tuesday's Watchung Borough Board of Education meeting.
Hughes will become the district's fourth kindergarten teacher, filling an opening created by the addition of another section, according to Superintendent Mary Louise Malyska.
Morris will step into the opening created in the school's fourth-grade classes by the promotion of Necole Fabris to assistant principal.
Speaking of the two new teachers, Bayberry Principal Mary Nunn said they were selected from a large pool of candidates. She said of the candidates interviewed, "These two really shined."
Morris may be familiar to some—she was a student teacher in the district last fall, according to Dr. Malyska. She graduated from The College of New Jersey.
Hughes, a Penn State grad, was a student teacher in Philadelphia, and developed an after-school program focused on developing reading skills.
