Aria and Leah Anthony wait for the bus for their first day in Green Brook schools in September. Some parents complained of long travel times for school buses, and the district worked to resolve the issues.
Roses and candles highlight remembrances by friends and family of Sept. 11 victims at Green Brook's Sept. 11 memorial service. The memorial suffered damage in Superstorm Sandy in October, with trees falling and crushing signs and markers at the memorial.
Watchung Hills Regional High School suffered extensive damage to a section of the roof in Hurricane Sandy, as well as other damage. The district has spent more than $450,000 to date repairing the roof and other damage caused by the storm.
Watchung Superintendent of Schools Mary Louise Malyska (left) received flowers and best wishes from the the district's Board of Education members at her final meeting, June 26. Dr. Malyska had served in the district for more than five years, and was replaced by Barbara Resko.
Tom DiGanci retired as principal of Watchung Hills Regional High School, capping a career that began in one of the school's classrooms. This photo was taken at a special luncheon held in his honor by the school's PTO.
