Texas Man: Credit Card Use was Fraudulent

Borough departments reports thefts in July.

Watchung Borough police reported a Fort Worth, Texas, resident said someone used a credit card account of his at the BJ's Wholesale Club on June 30, to purchase items totaling $419.88. Police are continuing to investigate the report.  

Police also reported the following thefts this month:

Luis Valdiva, 54, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting two necklaces, valued at $139.98, from the department store at 12:17 p.m. July 13. He was released on his own after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Dulnelly Herrera, 38, of South Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting shirts and sunglasses, valued at $76 in total, also from the Sears store at 3:20 p.m. July 21. She was released on her own recognizance, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Jazmin Harris, 20, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting women's clothing valued at $220.82 from the TJ Maxx Store on Route 22 at 1:33 p.m. July 18. Police said a warrant for her arrest had been issued by the Plainfield Municipal Court. She was released after posting $230 in bail, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Yvette Green, 23, of Piscataway, was charged with shoplifting DVDs and women's clothing, totaling $551.46, at the store at 3:47 p.m. July 17. Bail was set at $2,500, with a 10 percent cash option. She was intially taken to Somerset County Jail, unable to post the bail, but police reported she was subsequently able to post the bail and was released.

Arashone Stewart, 42, of Plainfield, was taken into custody and charged with shoplifting cookware valued at $199.99 form the at 8:55 p.m. July 5, after she attempted to flee police on Route 22. She was released after posting a $1,000 bond, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Christopher Zratko, 27, of Berkeley Heights, was charged with shoplifting an HDMI cable, valued at $49, from the Wal-Mart store at 5:29 p.m. July 5. He was released after posting a $500 bail, pending a court appearance.

Simone Lima, 33, of Warren, was charged with shoplifting health nd beauty products valued at $110 from the Wal-Mart store at 12:15 p.m. July 19. She was released after posting a $100 bond.

A manager reported two women left the restaurant without paying after eating meals totaling $28.76 at 9:40 p.m. July 21, driving away in a silver, four-door Honda sedan.

A Plainfield woman reported the theft of her wallet between 9:30 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. July 16, after she left it behind at a checkout stand at the Wal-Mart store. She said a credit card from her wallet was later used to make fraudulent charges.
