'Team Campbell' Hopes to Score at Warriors Game
Proceeds from girls basketball game to benefit Campbell Hoyt's battle against rare cancer.
Campbell Hoyt has been battling anaplastic ependymoma, a rare form of brain and spinal cancer since she was just three years old. Now six, she has already undergone four brain surgeries and 86 rounds of proton beam radiation therapy.
After completing seven months of a special five-drug combination aimed at destroying any residual tumors in her spine in April of last year, she may be moving past the spinal and brain tumors that have given her so much trouble in her young life.
But her treatments are continuing—and on Friday, the Watchung Hills Regional girls basketball team is looking to score big by hosting a fundraising game for Campell and her "Team Campbell" of supporters. Proceeds from the admissions of the game and other fundraiser planned will be donated to help defray Campbell's medical costs.
Everyone is also invited to wear yellow to help show their support for Campbell, as well as all battles against childhood cancer.
The game begins at 7 p.m. at Watchung Hills Regional.
