Next Tuesday will be a busy night at the Green Brook municipal building. The night will begin at 6 p.m. in the first floor conference room, with a meeting to review the strategic plan crafted at a June 23 meeting with township officials and residents.
The meeting will be open to the public and will run through the plan in its entirety.
“Anybody who was initially invited to the meeting will be there, as well as the public,” Deputy Mayor Patrick Boccio said in a phone interview. “We’re going to review the report from the consultant, and then we’re going to go to take the next step and finalize the outline. The actual strategic plan will be built from that.”
The strategic plan aims to provide an outline for future township projects and improvements. Among the ideas suggested at the meeting were developing a community center and a grocery store, and obtaining a postal ZIP code.
The meeting is scheduled to last approximately an hour as at 7 p.m., in the same room, there will be a residents' art reception.
“Many residents have donated or lent art for the town to display,” Boccio said. “We just want to thank them and show our appreciation.
Directly after that, at 7:30 p.m., there will be the Township Committee meeting, normally held on the first and third Monday of each month but is being moved due to the holiday on Monday.
