Watchung Stores Hit By Alleged Shoplifters

Watchung Police investigate several reports of thefts from stores.

 

Yvette Mae St. Cerny, 33, of North Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting at 8:47 p.m. May 15 after she attempted to return two lamps and an air conditioner filter, valued at $65.38, at the Home Depot store.

She was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in municipal court.

Warren Pender, 51, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting at 7:28 p.m. May 11, after he allegedly took bathroom fixtures, valued at $144.06, from the Home Depot. He was turned over the Somerset County Jail, with bail set at $150, after the charge was filed.

Eleanor Bayley, 52, of East Orange, was charged with shoplifting $42.19 of merchandise from the Wal-Mart store at 4:24 p.m. May 12. He was released after posting a $50 bond.

Romarie Esposito, 19, of Toms River, was charged with shoplifting makeup valued at $46.05 from the Wal-Mart at 5:10 p.m. May 12. She was released on her own recognizance after the charge was filed.

Tadesha Midwinter, 26, of Linden, was charged with shoplifting clothing valued at $795 from the Kohl's Department store at 6:20 p.m. May 15. She was released after the charge was filed, pending an appearance in county court.

Ronald Davis, 53, of North Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting when he allegedly attempted to leave the Stop 'n Shop grocery store with a cart full of groceries at 3:55 p.m. May 20. He was released after the charge was filed.

Rodney Stroughn, 44, of Newark, was charged with shoplifting a gas pressure washer, valued at $399, from the Home Depot, at 5:12 p.m. May 20. He was turned over to Somerset County Jail, with bail set at $2,500.

Kalyshia Smith, 23, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting clothing valued at $112.06 from the Wal-Mart at 5:39 p.m. May 20. She was released on her own after the charge was filed.

Fatima Grant, 23, of Plainfiled, was charged with shoplifting clothing valued at $118.44 from the Wal-Mart at 5:39 p.m. May 20. She was released after posting $250 bail.

Jacqueline Santana, 24, of North Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting clothing and beauty products from Wal-Mart valued at $384.63 at 3:06 p.m. May 25. She was released pending an appearance in municipal court.

Josef Allen, 25, of Newark, was charged with shoplifting merchandise valued at $498 from Wal-Mart at 8:03 a.m. May 29. He was released after posting $500 bail.
