New Library Director Ready for Warren
Carolyn Della-Sala stops by to meet Township Committee, advisory board members.
Carolyn Della-Sala started her library career not far from Warren—in the Plainfield Pulic Library, which she noted was "coincidentally, the back-up records center for Warren Library."
On Sept. 11, Della-Sala with become the new director of Warren Township Public Library, replacing Elaine Whiting, who was dismissed in April along with circulation supervisor Larry Sapienza after a mishandled policy implementation. Sapienza challenged his firing, and was reinstated as a volunteer coordinator, working in the Hillsborough branch of the county system.
Della-Sala has been working as the Somerset County Library System's Interlibrary loans supervisor at the Bridgewater branch for the last 16 years, she said at Thursday's Township Committee meeting, where she was introduced to the committee by library system Assistant Director Keith McCoy and Human Resources Director Deana Gray.
"I'm very excited by this opportunity," Della-Sala said. "I know the residents of Warren really value their library."
