$7,800 Engagement Ring Swiped From Jeweler
Man grabbed ring, cursed at employee and fled Ski Jewelers last week, police said.
A man who had been shopping for an engagement ring at Ski Jewelers returned last week to get it—with no apparent plans to pay for it, Green Brook Police said.
The man—described as thin with brown hair and brown skin, about 5-foot-5 and wearing a plaid shirt and baggy jeans—entered the store on Sept. 4 shortly after 4 p.m., and asked to see a $7,800 ring he had looked at a "couple of days" earlier, police said.
When the jeweler presented the ring, the man snatched, cursed at the jeweler, and ran out of the store, police said. Witnesses in the store saw him run around the side of the building, but no one pursued him, police said.
Police searched the area but did not find the thief.
