Legal Fund Launched for Reinstated Library Employee

Supporters hope to help defray $5,000 in legal expenses.

It's been a rough spring for Larry Sapienza, the one-time and future Warren Public Library employee who was fired and then reinstated by the Somerset County Library System.

As Sapienza appealed his dismissal and waited for an answer, he struggled financially, racking up legal costs in his battle.

After the library system commission voted to reinstate him at last week's meeting, Sapienza's supporters, who rallied for his cause through social media sites and pleas at the commission's meetings, have turned to helping defray his legal expenses.

Using the website Fundrazr.com, they hope to collect $5,000—and have already garnered $1,985 in their cause.

"Many have expressed interest in helping Larry with the lost wages and legal fees after he faced a termination and later suspension without pay from his job as Circulation Supervisor at the Warren Township Library," Sarah Fisher, who launched the drive, wrote. Those interested can contribute directly through the website.
