Church Looking to Stock Food Bank Shelves

Supplies typically fall short in summer—but you can help Advent Lutheran Church prevent that.

During the summer months, supplies at local food pantries tend to get extremely low. In an effort to help keep the shelves of the North Plainfield Food Bank stocked, Advent Lutheran Church is collecting non-perishable items throughout the summer months on the organization’s behalf.

Needed are canned goods, such as soups, fruits, vegetables, as well as pasta, and paper products.

The congregation has had a long history of food donation through its year-round Pennies for Pasta campaign. In addition to food items, members’ spare change, amounting to over $3,500 since 1993, has been donated to this important effort.

Non-perishable food items may be left in drop-off boxes at the front or rear of the church building, located at 126 Stirling Road, Warren. (Or brought along to worship services on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.)
