Lockdown Lifted in Watchung Neighborhood
SWAT team, other law enforcement agencies shut down area near Johnston Drive Sunday evening.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Somerset County SWAT team, locked down a Watchung neighborhood for several hours Sunday evening.
UPDATE: Man's "suicide by cop" threat prompted five-hour standoff, the prosecutor's office said Monday.
Access to Johnston Drive was blocked at Watchung Avenue, just a few blocks from Route 22, was blocked during the incident.
Authorities left the scene and re-opened the area shortly before 8 p.m.
Officers on the scene declined to comment on the activity. A spokesman for the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office could not immediately provide information on the situation.

Heard that someone was threatening suicide. Incident was on Upper Drive. No other info, and no confirmation of the info.
