A Look Ahead at This Week in Green Brook and Watchung
Area residents will be plenty busy this week.
Apprentice artists: The Watchung Arts Center launches its three-week Summer Arts Camp this week, offering insights and classes on artistic skills and techniques, led by Monica Schraiber Otero. Kids 6-12 will discover their inner Kadinsky with this year's focus on modern art.
Meetings on tap: Summertime means a bit of time-off for local officials, but there's still a meeting of the Watchung Board of Adjustment scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The board has been dealing with lots of homeowners' requests for variances for parking vehicles.
Attention Spider-Man and Dark Knight Buffs: ever wondered how they make those amazing action scenes? Would you like to learn the secrets to make your own action flicks? If so, the Watchung Public Library has just the program for you: Movie Magic, with Stephen Davis, will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Added bonus: learn how to apply "trauma" make-up—perfect for practical jokes! You'll need to pre-register to join.
Mad Sciencetists at Watchung Library: The Watchung Public Library's Mad Science program set for 11 a.m. Thursday will be cranking out some spaced-out kids. The program has a full house, thanks to the presentation on planets, moons, comets and the stars.
No Guys, Thank You: The Green Brook Swim Club is holding a Ladies Night event at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. There will be games of Bunco, with prizes, as well as sangria and lots of fun...all without the guys.
