- School: Berklee School of Music
- Award: Early acceptance
Watchung Hills Regional senior Michael Griffin, of Green Brook, was accepted to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass., this week.
He applied for early action and auditioned Dec. 1, and though applicants were not to be notified until Jan. 31, Griffin was contacted early.

Michael plans to major in Film Scoring and Berklee is the only college in the world that offers film scoring as an undergraduate degree. The film scoring department is headed by George Clinton, who scored the "Austin Powers" movies.
Michael holds the first chair for clarinet in the WHRHS Wind Ensemble, and also plays sax in the Jazz Band. He auditioned for Berklee on drums.
