George Selects UMass to Continue Lacrosse Career

Head Boy’s Lacrosse Coach Jamie Lovejoy announced today that senior midfielder Jeff George has officially accepted an athletic scholarship and, by signing a National Letter of Intent, has officially committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at the University of Massachusetts under highly regarded Head Coach Greg Canella.
Following the completion of his sophomore and junior seasons, George, a four year varsity starter, was selected to the All Skyland Conference and Group IV All State teams. For his excellence on the field during his junior season, George was honored by coaches at the conference and state levels as a first team selection, while being deemed worthy of All-American candidacy.
The University of Massachusetts Minutemen, recognized as a perennial power at the Division I level, went 15-1 overall, as well as 6-0 in conference play, during their 2012 campaign. The team carried an undefeated season through the Colonial Athletic Association Championships in which they claimed the CAA Championship Title. The Minutemen appeared as high as #1 nationally on multiple polls for their performances on the field, before falling to Colgate in the NCAA Men’s Championship Lacrosse Tournament.
